London, 28 April 2020: Following the success of the GoodSAM volunteering initiative for NHS Volunteer Responders, award-winning Technology Recruitment Consultancy, People Source, has launched a free NHS IT volunteering service.
The specially created website, www.keyworkervolunteer.co.uk is designed to quickly and easily connect the NHS with IT experts who can volunteer their time and know-how to Trusts with a specific IT request or need for support.
This is a call for all skilled IT workers to register and support the NHS at a time when the implementation of digital solutions and IT support is critical to Trusts up and down the country.
Within its first week, the initiative has seen 1,500 volunteers sign-up for a range of roles, including IT Trainers, Technical Project Managers, IT Managers, Infrastructure Engineers and Service Desk Analysts.
It is simple to sign up as a volunteer on the website and for NHS organisations to find someone with the right requirements. The service is completely free for volunteers and Trusts, with all costs covered by People Source.
The platform is being led by David Wylie, People Source e-health director and the company’s recruitment team, who have pledged that if an NHS organisation is not getting the right volunteers, they will go one step further and try to source volunteers themselves.
Wylie says: “We would be delighted if the platform could benefit NHS IT teams across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Working in collaboration with PR and Marketing Agency Silver Buck, People Source is hoping to spread the word far and wide, to ensure all relevant organisations are aware of the service.
Wylie added; “For it to be successful we firstly need people to know that the platform is there, which is why we’re so delighted that Silver Buck has offered their services for the good of the cause. Secondly, we need the NHS to publish their requirements and lastly, and most importantly, we need volunteers to sign up.”
